About Ruth

On completion of her A-levels, Ruth headed off to drama school to became a classically trained actress. She worked and toured the country as an actress in the theatre for over a decade. In between acting jobs, she taught numerous projects in a variety of settings, ranging from private schools through to Young Offenders Centres. These experiences (including a government funded, 're-engagement project' for excluded teenagers), marked the start of a life-long love affair with teaching.

Once she became a mother, she put away her suitcase and headed back to university where she was awarded a first class honours degree in English language and literature. She was now able to combine her highly developed communication skills and her ability to unlock a text, with her newly acquired academic understanding.

She was ready to teach again.

Having developed a deep knowledge of the curriculum, assessment objectives and the different exam boards, she embarked on her journey into tuition.

All of Ruth's energy and time is now focused on running her hugely popular GCSE/IGCSE English literature and language courses, where she supports home-schooled, state and private school students to excel in their English studies.

Alongside her courses, she also works with students who are out of the education system due to complex mental, emotional and behavioural issues.
